Plymouth Focus
The advice centre closed at the end of March 2026 after almost 25 years of activity. This was due to a lack of volunteers.
City Church Plymouth is grateful to everyone who contributed to this project over the years in various ways. Around £3.5 million was raised for people in this city, mainly through new benefits or grants that they did not know they were entitled to. 1807 clients (individuals or families) were supported and some over many years.
It was also a project that drew many Christians together from across various churches with a heart to help those who had financial problems. The majority of these were from Mutley Baptist Church who also generously supported this project.
One of our church values is unity and this project was a great example of this: we can do so much more as church when we come together as one body, uniting Christians with a clear purpose.
